April 2nd Back at Ryans N16

February 27, 2011

We will be back at Ryans in Stoke Newington again on the 2nd April for a show that we are putting on ourselves. This time we have There’s More Of Us Than There Are Of You headlining and Broken Shoulder, the solo project of Neil from Fighting Kites, is opening the evening. The facebook event with all the details is here. It is the album launch and also the live debut of Broken Shoulder. Plenty could go wrong and that must be worth the entry fee alone! £4. Bargain!

Gig tomorrow

February 20, 2011

Fighting Kites will be playing tomorrow, Monday the 21st February at the Macbeth on Hoxton Street. We are headlining! Have been wanting to play a show with this promoter Sweet Beans for a long time so it should be a cracker. Also only £3. Hope to see you there.

Gig soon and album update

November 3, 2010

First post for a very long time but for once, plenty to say. First of all we are delighted to be putting on a night at Ryans Bar in Stoke Newington on the 13th November. We will be playing along with some of our most musical friends. It’s only £4 for 4 bands and playing on the night will be Fighting Kites, Elks, Ex Easter Island Head and Benjamin Shaw. Facebook event is here, but if you prefer to not gey your information from there, all you really need to know is it starts at 8.00, is at Ryans and will be a cracker.

Also the album making process has been moving on nicely, and we now have everything recorded and the majority of the mixing done. Sounding lovely too. Watch this space for more details. Hopefully the next update will not take so long!

Spatchcock next Saturday and more recording

March 17, 2010

We are delighted to be back playing Spatchcock again next Saturday, the 27th March. For those of you have never been to Spatchcock, well, it’s pretty great. Cheap to get in, brilliant and interesting music, and nice cheap beer (hopefully!). For more information go here
or ask us via the email.
Still recording and it is sounding good at the moment. All the basics will be finished soon hopefully, and then we start adding all the decoration on top. Exciting!

February 10, 2010

Last weekend we finally made it into the studio to start the recording for our debut album to be released as soon as it is finished on the magnificent Gravid Hands label. So, one weekend in and we have the basic bits to build into the snazziest versions of our tunes that you have ever heard. Watch this space for further updates.
Also we are pleased to announce that the live version of Chuck Close recorded at the Salisbury and featured on the Vlaams Tapes CDR will be on the forthcoming Gravid Hands label sampler.
